The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service has issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of homicide suspect Victor J. Lazore, 33, Akwesasne, in connection with the death of 58-year-old Jeffery Allen Lazore-Arquette, Akwesasne on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
On Sunday, August 11, 2019, at 9:39 AM, the Akwesasne Central Dispatch received a phone call requesting an ambulance to attend the residence of Jeffery Allen Lazore- Arquette in Kana:takon (St. Regis, QC). The Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service and the Akwesasne Mohawk Police attended the residence.
Uniformed patrol officers entered into the residence and found a male known as Jeffrey Lazore inside the residence suffering from an unknown injury. The victim was immediately tended to by paramedic staff and transported to the Cornwall Community Hospital. The AMPS secured the area and the Sûreté Du Quebec Forensic Identification Unit was called to assist with processing the scene.
Jeffrey Allen Lazore-Arquette succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon of August 11, 2019 at the Ottawa General Hospital. On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service attended the Ottawa General Hospital for the postmortem autopsy examination. Preliminary findings confirmed the death to be caused by a gunshot wound. AMPS are investigating the incident as a homicide and the investigation is ongoing.
