AKWESASNE — Some local residents may have noticed that with warmer temperatures comes quick snowmelt, which often leads to flooded driveways and basements. To assist community members in dealing with either situation, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Planning Office is providing the following contact information:
- For flooded driveways or plugged culverts, call the New York State Department of Transportation at (518) 483-0770.
- For flooded basements, including situations where a flooded yard has the potential of water entering the home, call the Tribe’s Emergency Planning Office at (518) 358-2272 ext. 2210.
- For after hours or the weekend, as well as for emergencies, call the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department at (518) 358-9200.
